A Simple Act of Kindness
Every now and again, we just need a simple reminder that kindness is important.
The Challenge
Here’s the challenge, spend at least 15 minutes everyday understanding another person’s perspective—one different from your own—and use this understanding to adjust your view of the world. Let’s challenge ourselves to reach for understanding before passing down judgment.
Soaring Among Average
Institutions spend time competing against each other instead of removing obstacles that stand in the way of more students accessing affordable education options. We need options that continue to make education accessible and affordable for everyone based on today’s student needs and expectations.
When Close Enough Becomes Good Enough
In the middle of being busy, we start to settle. We look around and know the things that need to get done to stay ahead of the game, but we fall into the trap of saying “it’s close enough” which then turns into “we’re good enough.” Unfortunately, as in business, institutions who adopt a culture of settling realize before too long that they can no longer be competitive with a “good enough” attitude and as a result no longer exist.
Higher Education's Day Off
Students enter higher education from all walks of life. Some enter with anticipation, others enter from obligation, and still others enter with uncertainty. However, they all seek an opportunity to make their lives or the lives of their loved ones better. Since no two students have the same needs or goals, it is important that institutions take the time to understand who they are serving.
Ripple Effect
Higher education offers people a foundation to foster thoughts and ideas that can inspire change in the world. So as we look at the issues facing higher education, we need to ask what little pebble did we toss into the water to create the tidal wave we face today.
